Hi

I am Lezanne Human, CEO of FNB Premier Banking. I am well aware that we all face a daily flood of email, and that time is a scarce commodity. So I will not write to you regularly, but if there is something pertinent to share, I will be dropping you an email. This quick email is to ensure that you are getting as much value out of FNB as you possibly can, and to quickly relate a lovely story to you.

Getting maximum value out of your FNB relationship.

You will probably know by now about the bank’s annual price increase on 1 July. I know this is a hot topic and hence I want to ensure that, as a Premier client, you’re aware of how you can reduce your bank charges as much as possible. If you have not yet had a conversation with your Premier Banker or anyone else in the Premier Suite, please speak to them on how you can cut your fees by making small changes to your banking practices and selecting the best possible pricing option.

Once you have your bank charges structured optimally, then please ensure that you are getting the most value out of FNB by making use of all the free value-adding offerings. For example, if you are using your FNB Credit or Cheque Card to fill up at garages, you can get up to 15% of the value of your fuel purchases back. It is a free offering and you don’t even need to register for this. Amongst other criteria determining the portion you get back, you just have to bank online, update your contact details via our online banking channel and use your FNB Credit/Cheque Card. You can view more details as well as a “fuel rewards calculator” on our FNB website, to ensure that you get the maximum value back.

This free benefit is over and above the eBucks you should already receive just for using your FNB Credit /Cheque Card everywhere else. So please make sure that you are registered for eBucks to ensure you are rewarded, just for doing what you would have done anyway. And then of course, if you have a Platinum FNB Cheque or Credit Card, you have the benefit of getting access to the wonderful SLOW Lounges at the domestic terminals at O.R.Tambo, Cape Town and King Shaka.

Please ensure that you get maximum value from being an FNB client. Everyone is paying bank charges, but make sure you pay as little as possible, and derive as much value as possible. For more tips on how to benefit from all the free stuff (like free online banking, cellphone banking, etc) please speak to your Premier Banker.

A strong belief in nation building.

And then lastly, just a warm story to quickly share with you... At FNB Premier Banking we strongly believe in using whatever influence we have for the greater good and to help build our nation. A current initiative that we are involved in, is to invite the public (and that includes you as our clients) to form part of a national ground swell of tributes to Mr Nelson Mandela who is celebrating 21 years of freedom this year. Because he has dedicated his life to the bettering of other people’s lives and because he has done it in a way that has united a nation in an absolutely miraculous way, there are many people that want to thank him for that.

To spearhead this wave of tributes, we asked a number of South African icons to tell us their personal stories about Mandela. Each story was unique and gave rare glimpses into both the serious and humorous side of Mandela, making one realise again what a larger than life person he is. You would have seen some mentions of this event (held on 21 June) in the last week or so in the press and would have heard some of it on radio and television. If you want to contribute your personal message on how Mandela has impacted your life, please SMS this to 43124 and these will be included in a book being handed over for Mandela’s birthday.

Thank you for being an FNB Premier client and for allowing us to be your banking partner.

Best Regards,
Lezanne Human
