Spring is upon us and for many it is a time to clear out the clutter and prepare for a new season.  A new season brings with it a changing landscape and new opportunities.  At FNB Private Clients we have taken the opportunity to reflect on how we further improve our offering to you. We introduce to you SLOW in the City. This unique concept offers a place to work, eat and relax, based on the SLOW lounge concept at Oliver Tambo airport, with added functionality as far as office space is concerned. We take time to review the FNB App , which is here to make your banking experience easier and more accessible. We take a look at the property barometer, which is a residential fixed investment review, and lastly we review our new offering-Alternatives to cash, which offers three low-risk, attractive-duration investment options.

It has been a tumultuous period in investment markets with European debt woes and the recent downgrade of the US debt ratingweighing heavily on investor sentiment. While there has been talk of a mild recession globally we believe that a lot of the bad news in the markets is already reflected in the prices and our sense is that there is long term value in global equity markets. Dividend yields on the S&P500 are now above US treasury yields which historically has proved to be a reliable indicator of good value.Patience will be rewarded over the long term.

With spring in the air lets refocus our energies and take some time to enjoy our country, our technology and our Rugby.
